1. Problem with configuring to CAD program in Windows Vista, 7, 8 and later
In some cases, in order to properly configure CADprofi to certain base CAD programs on Windows Vista, 7, 8 and later operating systems user must have administrator privileges.
2. Where are the blocks and other elements created by the user stored?
All blocks (objects and symbols) created with the User block wizard command are saved in the following folders: (...)\Producers\Working_folder and (...)\Producers\Working_symbols.
All other elements (symbols, line and wall types etc.) are saved in the (...)\UserData folder.
The character described above as "(...)" means the default program installation folder.
3. After installing the CADProfi OEM (CP-Manufacturers) program the CADprofi menu is missing.
After installing a CADprofi OEM (CP-Manufacturers) program user may find that the CADprofi menu is missing. In order to fully restore the full program functionality run the CADprofi Configuration program and select the CADprofi/CP-Symbols option and afterwards click the Configure CAD button.
4. My CAD program is not available in the "CADprofi Configuration" window.
Possible causes:

Your CAD program may not be compatible with CADprofi. Check the list of compatible CAD programs. If your program is on the list, then it's possible to manually configure the CAD program.

After installation, your CAD program has not been run at least once. In this case, run your CAD program, thanks to which the appropriate entries in the Windows registry will be added. Afterwards run again the CADprofi Configuration program.

CADprofi program is in an older version (published before the release of your base CAD program). In this case you should download the latest version of CADprofi, which your licence is entitled to and if the problem persists then we recommend to buy a CADprofi update.
5. How can I change the terminology or the translations of the texts in the program?
CADprofi has a very large amount of substantive content, including many national and international standards, manufacturer libraries etc. Many standards and libraries are added to the program only in the original language or are translated only to certain languages. User can add his own translations or change the existing ones, thanks to this it's possible to obtain specifications and descriptions in your own native language. 6. How can I add my own symbols or additional objects to the program?
Users can add their own symbols or objects to the program by using the User block wizard command. If you think that CADprofi library should contain additional symbols or standards, please contact us.

7. Is it possible to use the DWG or DXF files that are available on the manufacturers websites in the program?
Yes. CAD files that are available on manufacturers websites are mostly intended for designing purposes and can be used by designers (end users). For this reason, downloaded dwg and dxf files can be imported into CADprofi by the User block wizard command.
If you think that specific manufacturers libraries should be integrated with CADprofi then please send this requests directly to the manufacturer with suggestion to cooperate with our company and authorize us to use these materials in CADprofi.
8. What is the "Common" library that is downloaded during the program update?
"Common" library contains many common elements which are used in other libraries (e.g. motors, flange valves, standardized parts etc.). Thanks to the "Common" library CADprofi program has got a much smaller size.
In order to update these components the "Common" library is visible in the on-line update system, but does not function independently and therefore it's not visible in the Products library command.
9. How to remove CADprofi from the CAD program and how to remove the message about "incorrect configuration"?
To remove CADprofi from the CAD program, use the Restore CAD option available in the program configuration dialog window. By default, a shortcut to the configuration program is created on the desktop and in the Windows Start menu. If the program has been uninstalled without performing this step, the CADprofi program menu may remain in the CAD program and the "incorrect configuration" message may appear when starting the CAD program. In this case, do the following:
- In the CAD program, remove the CADprofi application menu (using the appropriate customization options available in the CAD program or by using the _menuunload or _cuiunload commands).
- Delete the cadprofi.lsp file in the CAD program startup folder (eg "%appdata%\ZWSOFT\ZWCAD\2021\en-US\Support").
- In the autoload file (e.g. acad.lsp, icad.lsp, zwcad.lsp, on_start.lsp etc.) delete the entire line containing the text: (load "cadprofi.lsp").
Notice:
Editing of the lsp file should be done with the use of a text editor such as Windows Notepad. The autoload file can be also located in the CADprofi data folder, eg C:\CADprofi\X.x or C:\ProgramData\CADprofi\X.x (where X.x means the CADprofi version number). 10. What can be the cause of an incorrect drawing (of e.g. installation strings) in some drawings?
CADprofi commands are very often based on the User Coordinate System (UCS) and other drawing settings. In some cases (mostly in dwg files that have been exported from various CAD programs, that don't work natively on dwg) user may experience problems with reading the correct coordinates by the CAD program. The recommended solution is to copy all objects from the drawing to the newly created dwg file.
Important:
When copying, the sheet settings, printing settings and text styles may be lost. For this reason, we recommend to verify the correctness of the project after copying the elements into the new drawing.
11. The size of some dialog windows is too big for my screen, how can I reduce them?
This problem is most common in laptops, for which the resolution is only 1366x768 pixels. With the development of CADprofi application, we have assumed that user will use a larger resolution, which will provide a comfortable working space, which is especially recommended when working in graphic programs such as CAD.
It is possible to change the size of many CADprofi windows but for some commands (e.g. PLC controllers, Scheme templates, Stairs, Roofs and others) it is not possible to change the dialog window size because of technical reasons. In order to solve this problem we recommend to:
- Change the monitor to a larger one or increase the screen resolution.
- If it's not possible to change the monitor then it's necessary to enable the auto-hide of the Windows taskbar thanks to which user can get a slightly larger workspace.
- If the Insert button is still not visible , then the function of this button can be replaced by double-clicking on the element (on the list on the left side of the dialog box) or in the thumbnail (which is visible at the top of the dialog box).
12. What to do if, after several updates, CADprofi folder takes up too much space on the disk?
After updating the program with the help of the online update system from the CADprofi server, files are downloaded and stored on the disk in special subfolders. These files are not automatically deleted because they can be used to perform and update on other computer workstations (e.g. in case of having several licenses or a Network license). Additionally, the update system creates copies of previously used files, which is sometimes useful when you need to restore a previous version of the program.
If the program update has been successful and these files are not needed, then the Download and Archive subfolders that are located in the CADprofi installation folder can be deleted. Read more....
If user has installed a new version of the program, for example CADprofi 11 and does not expect that in the future he will want to return to the previous releases, he can delete from the disk the folders with the previous versions (e.g. subfolder 10.1, 10.0 and older).
If the program update has been successful and these files are not needed, then the Download and Archive subfolders that are located in the CADprofi installation folder can be deleted. Read more....

13. How to delete the unused libraries of manufacturers from the program?
In order to remove certain manufacturers libraries user has to delete from the disk the corresponding subfolders for example (...)\Producers\Xx (where Xx is the subfolder that contains the library that we want to remove and "(...)" is CADprofi default installation folder). After removing the library from the disk, it won't be visible in the manufacturers libraries selection screen and it won't be included in the online update system.
14. How to print and display bright (light) colors of the layers used in CADprofi program?
The structure of layers and colors used in the CADprofi application are adapted to the black background, which is less sight tiring for the user (especially when he works in long hours).
Display – if user has got a white background or a different bright (light) background, we recommend to change the background color to black. Changes should be made in the options of your base CAD program.
Printing – to print designs without the need of changing the colors of the drawing user should choose one of the CADprofi predefined print styles:
- CADprofi Mono – style, in which all colors from the drawing are automatically converted to black on printouts.
- CADprofi Color – style, in which most of the bright (light) colors of objects from the drawing are converted to black on printouts, while lines, pipes, ducts etc. are printed in color.
Notice:
- If CADprofi printing styles are not visible in the printing dialog window, then user has to manually copy them from the (...)XX.x\PlotStyle folder to the appropriate base CAD program configuration folder. If user doesn't want or can't change the background in the CAD program, then he can permanently change the colors of CADprofi layers by using the normal.dwg or normal_ic.dwg template files. In these files user should create the desired layers and give them the right color. Thank to this, all new drawings will use the layer definitions that are contained in the these template files.
- "(...)" is CADprofi default installation folder.
- If CADprofi printing styles are not visible in the printing dialog window, then user has to manually copy them from the (...)XX.x\PlotStyle folder to the appropriate base CAD program configuration folder. If user doesn't want or can't change the background in the CAD program, then he can permanently change the colors of CADprofi layers by using the normal.dwg or normal_ic.dwg template files. In these files user should create the desired layers and give them the right color. Thank to this, all new drawings will use the layer definitions that are contained in the these template files.

15. What to do when in the CAD program there are no CADprofi ribbons?
In order to solve this issue, user should unload and reload CADprofi menu files.
To do this, type directly in the command line, the following commands:
- CPUMNU (automatically unloads CADprofi menu)
and
- CPLMNU (automatically loads CADprofi menu).
It is also possible to use the CAD program commands _menuunload (_cuiunload) and _menuload (_cuiload).
16. How to globally change the style for descriptions that are used in many CADprofi objects?
All descriptions (visible texts) that are inserted along with the CADprofi objects use text styles that are permanently assigned to them. According to the rules that are used in CAD programs, if the style already exists in the drawing then it's definition is not changed. It is therefore possible to prepare an appropriate template file (dwt file), that will contain the already defined text styles. Their names must be appropriate with style names that are used in CADprofi objects. Setting the template as default will cause that the each newly created drawing will have a complete set of style texts that are adjusted to the user needs.
A second solution is to prepare the "Drawing standard", ie the - normal.dwg or normal_ic.dwg, file, which is automatically loaded every time user starts CADprofi or when opening drawings. By default, normal.dwg and normal_ic.dwg files are located in (...)\X.x\Block\General. Read more...

17. How to insert to the drawing parametrical objects with user own dimensions?
CADprofi provides the possibility to insert parametrical objects with own dimensions by:
- defining user own variants and adding them to the database.
- inserting them with the Insert (specify all dimensions) option. 
18. What to do if there is no specific content after the online update?
In this case, check whether you have rights to save data in the folder where you have installed CADprofi.
This problem may also happen if an error occured when user was downloading files. In this case delete the Download folder in the main program directory and run again the on-line update system. The ultimate solution is to use the installation files that are available in the manage your license webpage.
19. Error in configuring CADprofi to BricsCAD V17
When you first start BricsCAD V17, program checks if it’s possible to copy settings from the previous program versions. Doing so prevents the correct configuration of CADprofi. This problem can be solved in two ways:
I – Create a new user profile.
1. Run the BricsCAD V17 program.
2. From the Tools menu select the User Profile Manager option.
3. In the manager window create a new profile with any name, select it as current and run BricsCAD V17 again.
4. Create in the program a new drawing and close it.
5. Run the CADprofi configuration program. Now BricsCAD V17 should be visible there and you can configure it with CADprofi.
1. Run the BricsCAD V17 program.

II – Edit the Windows system registry.
1. From the Windows Start menu run the regedit command.
2. In the registry window find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bricsys\Bricscad\ folder and delete the V17 or V17x64 (for 64-bit version) folder.
3. Run BricsCAD V17 and choose the No option in the dialog window that allows to copy settings.
4. Create in the program a new drawing and close it.
5. Run the CADprofi configuration program. Now BricsCAD V17 should be visible there and you can configure it with CADprofi.

20. The message appears "In order to install updates you have to first close the CAD program" and my CAD program is turned off
This problem is related to the inability to change the value of the relevant entry in the Windows registry. The only option to repair it is the manual editing. To do this:

Open the system registry window by typing regedit in the Windows Start.
-
In the registry tree, expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER branch and afterwards Software > CADprofi > LibraryBib > Settings.

In the open branch double click on RunCpDllArx and change its value to 0. Afterwards confirm with the OK button.

After performing this operation, you can close the registry editor window and start the installation process in the program update window.
21. An error occurs when installing or updating CADprofi.
During the installation process, various errors may occur, such as:
- "The Installed version of the application could not be determined. The Setup will now Terminate."
- „Error 1935” or others.
Errors of this type occur relatively rarely in different versions of Windows, their solution is common and for this purpose user should:

Uninstall the current version of CADprofi (using the "Apps and Features" option in the "Control Panel")

Perform a new program installation.
22. What does the message "Probably you have bought CP-Symbols. An option available only in CADprofi program" mean?
CADprofi , CP-Symbols applications and 'Demo' version have a common installation program. After installing the program, all commands available in both programs are active for 30 days. After the trial period, the functionality of the program depends on the license you purchased.
For CP-Symbols licenses, CADprofi commands are not available. The message "Probably you have bought CP-Symbols. An option available only in CADprofi program" means that user has no license for CADprofi and in this case should only use the toolbar, menu or panel (ribbon menu) named 'CP-Symbols'.
